La Fiorentina condanna fortemente quanto successo al proprio capitano, Cristiano Biraghi, durante la Finale di UECL Fiorentina-West Ham. 

Il giocatore è stato infatti colpito alla testa da un oggetto lanciato dalla curva appartenente ai tifosi del West Ham, mentre al minuto 33 del primo tempo Biraghi stava per battere un calcio d’angolo proprio sotto la tifoseria londinese.

Questo inaccettabile comportamento ha ovviamente condizionato la prestazione dell’atleta e dei suoi compagni, consapevoli di essere su un terreno di gioco non solo più calcistico ma anche pericoloso per la propria incolumità.

Il capitano viola, pur con una profonda ferita alla testa, per cui sono stati poi necessari otto punti di sutura, ha continuato a giocare, mostrando tutti i valori di correttezza, lealtà e sportività che il calcio dovrebbe incarnare e che la Fiorentina cerca di portare avanti con tutte le sue forze.

La Società è certa che la UEFA valuterà approfonditamente l'accaduto e punirà questo gesto come merita e nel modo più esemplare possibile, affinché situazioni del genere non si verifichino più.

Fiorentina strongly condemn what happened to their captain, Cristiano Biraghi, during the Conference League final between Fiorentina and West Ham last night.

Biraghi was hit on the head by an object thrown from the stand housing West Ham fans in the 33rd minute of the first half while he was about to take a corner kick.

This unacceptable behaviour obviously affected the performance of the footballer and his team-mates, who had their attention drawn away from footballing matters by the threats to their own safety.

The Viola captain, despite suffering a deep wound to his head requiring eight stitches, continued to play on. Biraghi displayed the values of fairness, integrity and sportsmanship which should be the benchmark for all football and that Fiorentina seek to champion with all of their power.

The club is certain that UEFA will thoroughly evaluate the incident and duly punish those responsible for this act, delivering an appropriate response and setting an example so that such situations never occur again.
