Fiorentina's next opponents in the Conference League are based in the city of Czestochowa in the south of Poland, although the club originally hails from the village of Rakow.

After many years in the lower leagues, their modern rebirth can be attributed to Michał Swierczewski, owner of e-commerce giant X-Kom. He introduced an avant-garde managements model and in 2016 hired Marek Papszun, who went on to claim the club's first silverware: two Polish Cups, two Super Cups and a historic Ekstraklasa title in 2022/23.

This season they finished second in the league phase of the Conference League on 14 points (four wins and two draws), just two behind table-toppers Strasbourg, with just two goals conceded. 

On the domestic front, Rakow are currently fifth in the standings, three points off top spot, and recently changed coach following Marek Papszun's departure for Legia Warsaw, with 37-year-old Łukasz Tomczyk handed the reins.

Rakow's formation of choice is 3-4-2-1 with Norwegian striker Jonatan Braut Brunes as the focal point of their attack (10 goals in 20 games this season).

Club captain is veteran Croat Fran Tudor, who has made over 240 appearances for the club. His versatility allows him to operate both on the right flank and at center-back.
