Today Fabio Grosso was unveiled as Fiorentina’s new head coach. Here’s some of what he had to say from the Wind Tre Media Center at the Rocco B. Commisso Viola Park.
FIORENTINA – “I’d like to thank Fiorentina’s ownership and management for this wonderful opportunity they’ve given me. Working in a historic and stunning city like Florence is a huge honor for me. I also feel it’s my duty to thank Sassuolo.”
JULY 9, 2006 – “It’s exactly twenty years since our World Cup victory, and what we did remains relevant. We performed so well in 2006. Behind that victory was a lot of hard work. I’ll never forget those experiences.”
NEW COACHING EXPERIENCE – “The ownership are keen to build something special. Hard work and time will provide the right answers. Each of us will contribute what we can to create a Fiorentina side that’s competitive in the long-term.”
WINNING A TROPHY IN FLORENCE – “Everyone dreams of achieving something special. Emotions will guide us, as they’re fundamental in motivating us every day to make our fans proud.”
THE SQUAD – “We’ll see. The players are the main protagonists here. I’ll meet up with all the lads on Sunday. I haven’t given anyone a call yet. I’ll speak with everyone when we get together.”
PLAYING STYLE – “I’ll use a 4-3-3 formation. However, I’ve been committed to my own ideas for a long time. I believe that character and courage are important.”
ARTHUR ATTA – “He’s a top player, as are Radu Dragusin and Viery. They’ve got great potential. I’m very pleased with their arrivals. I see Atta playing as a midfielder.”
MOISE KEAN – “I’ve known Moise since he was a kid. He’s a young man who always had tremendous drive, and I’m happy to be reunited with him. He’s a key piece of the puzzle for this Fiorentina team.”
NICOLO FAGIOLI – “Nicolo has got exceptional technical ability. He’s another important player for this Fiorentina side.”
