Sunday's encounter will be the 107th Serie A meeting between Genoa and Fiorentina. The Viola have won 49, drawn 39 and lost 18 of those games. 

Genoa have picked up just one point in their last six top-flight meetings with Fiorentina (1D, L5), having gone unbeaten for half a dozen encounters before then (1W, 5D).

Fiorentina are the team that Genoa have drawn with most often in Serie A (39 times) – at least two draws more than against any other club.

The Viola haven't lost to Genoa in their last nine league games (5W, 4N), scoring 18 goals while conceding six and never letting in more than one goal in a single match.

0-0 is the most common result when these two sides meet in Serie A: it has occurred 15 times, the most recent of which coming in Florence on January 25, 2020.

Fiorentina have triumphed on their last three visits to Genoa in Serie A (their best-ever run of away wins against them in the competition). Before then, the Viola managed three victories in 20 trips to the Stadio Ferraris (12W, 5D).

The most recent meeting in Genoa, in October 2024, ended 1-0 to Fiorentina. They have never recorded back-to-back clean sheets in away games against the Rossoblu.

Player Focus

Lorenzo Colombo is the Genoa player with the most total shots in this year's Serie A (17) but is yet to find the net in the league. His last Serie A goal came against Monza in May. 

Patrizio Masini has won more duels (78) and tackles (24) than any other player in the 2024/25 Serie A.

Genoa are one of just three teams (Juventus and Milan the others) that Moise Kean has both scored and got an assist against in Serie A (1G, 1A).

Kean has scored two goals in his last five league appearances – both at home. He is yet to score on the road this season (last away goal on May 25 against Udinese).

Rolando Mandragora – who made his first five Serie A appearances with Genoa in the 2014/15 season – has scored twice against his former club (the most recent at the Stadio Ferraris in August 2023). The Rossoblu are the team (together with Cremonese and Empoli) that he has scored against most often in the league. If he's named in the starting line-up on Sunday, it will be his 200th start in the Italian top flight.

Albert Gudmundsson is the only Fiorentina player who has both scored and assisted in Serie A this term (one goal and one assist). The Icelander played 47 league matches for Genoa and scored 15 goals (14 in 2023/24 – his most in a single Serie A campaign). This will be the first match-up between Daniele De Rossi and Paolo Vanoli as coaches in Serie A.
