Fiorentina secure their first Serie A win of the season, beating Udinese 5-1 at the Stadio Franchi.
It was a perfect first half for Fiorentina: first Maduka Okoye was sent off, then Rolando Mandragora scored on a free kick, followed by Albert Gudmundsson with a left-footed shot and Cher Ndour with a header, making the score 3-0. The momentum continued in the second half, with Moise Kean back on the scoresheet with two goals. Udinese pulled one back with Oumar Solet’s extraordinary goal, just to reduce the deficit. Fiorentina thus secured a very important win.
There was a key moment in the 8th minute: Kean was served with a long pass and was knocked down outside the box by Okoye, who was sent off. Fiorentina are awarded a free kick, which is taken by Mandragora, but it only hit the woodwork. In the 20th minute Gudmundsson took the initiative and moved past two opponents, took a shot and hit the post to the left of Razvan Sava.
The hosts scored the opener in the 21st minute thanks to a free kick by Mandragora, making it 1-0. Fiorentina came close again in the 29th minute with Ndour, who cut it back to Mandragora, whose shot however went high.
Fiorentina then doubled their lead in the 42nd minute: Fabiano Parisi served Gudmundsson who sent the opponent the wrong way and scored with a left-footed shot.
In the 47th minute, Nicolo Fagioli got a chance to make it 3-0 after being served an assist by his Icelandic team-mate, but his side-footed shot went high. In the last minute of added time, Fiorentina found their third goal with Ndour: Fagioli crossed it into the box and Ndour headed it past Sava.
In the 49th minute, Hassane Kamara broke away down the left and took a shot, but David De Gea denied him. In the 56th minute Kean scored the fourth goal for Fiorentina from close range after Parisi’s shot had hit the post. In the 66th minute Solet scored a great goal in the top corner, cutting in from the left and taking a right-footed shot.
Kean then scored his second goal of the match in the 68th minute: after receiving a great pass from Dodo, he beat Sava at the near post and made it five for Fiorentina. The remainder of the match saw little action and Fiorentina won 5-1, securing their first three points of the season.
