The first half of the match was relentless and at times tense, but it was ultimately a goalless one. The second half was very tricky for both teams and when it all seemed to be over, Moise Kean took matters into his own hands and scored, securing the three precious points for his team.

In the 5^th minute, Nicolo Fagioli won the ball high up following an unsuccessful clearance by Francesco Folino. The Fiorentina midfielder then took his shot, but it was saved by Emil Audero. In the 12^th minute, Luca Ranieri crossed the ball from the final third reaching Fabiano Parisi, whose header, however, hit the crossbar. Albert Gudmundsson’s left-footed effort in the 50^th minute was also saved by the Cremonese keeper.

The second half was very cagey, with the Viola making many attempts but always failing to find the breakthrough. In the 79^th minute Dodo provided a good through ball to Roberto Piccoli, but Federico Baschirotto did a great job stopping the Fiorentina forward with a precise slide tackle. In the 84^th minute David De Gea made an outrageous save following a free kick by Franco Vazquez: the ball took a dangerous swerve, but the Spaniard still made the save. In the 88^th minute Kean broke free at the edge of the box, but his right-footed shot was imprecise and went high. 

Then in the 92^nd minute, Kean scored: Manor Solomon crossed it into the box, Niccolo Fortini went with a header that was denied by Audero, but the number 20 netted it.
