Edin Dzeko: "I'll give my all to keep growing Fiorentina"

Edin Dzeko was presented to the press at Viola Park's Wind3 Media Center on Thursday.

Here's what our new striker had to say:

EXPECTATIONS - “I have big expectations of myself. I'm the one who has to give Fiorentina something extra with my experience and ability and help the guys. This is a big club and that's one of the reasons I joined. I'll give my all to keep growing Fiorentina.”

PLAYING STYLE - “We're working hard and getting to know each other - the coach and the staff and the new players. We've done the fitness tests to see where we're at and the coach is slowly introducing us to the sort of football he wants to play. He want us to be aggressive and take the game to opponents.”

TRANSFER - “As soon as I found out about this opportunity I said I wanted to make it happen. I wanted to come back to Italy, to a big club, which is where I am now. Florence is a beautiful city and I'm looking forward to discovering it.”

FEELINGS – “I'm very happy here. Fiorentina is a great club.”

TARGETS - “We have to prepare as well as we can and that's what we're trying to do now. I've never set limits or a certain goals target. The team comes first. I try to score goals and set up team-mates to help the team. We must be ambitious – that's the key to success.”

TEAM-MATES - “[Moise] Kean and [Albert] Gudmundsson are fantastic players. Kean showed everyone what sort of a player he is last season. Gud has done well in Italy and he can do even better. Great players can always play together. The team always comes first.”

SHIRT NUMBER – “We'll decide the squad numbers at the end but it doesn't matter much. What we do on the pitch is all that really matters.”

TEAM WORK – “Every team needs a mix of youth and experience. We help each other. Us veterans have seen a lot so we try to help the youngsters. I've seen that they're all good guys here and they all want to work.”

CONFERENCE LEAGUE – “I've seen how Fiorentina have done in the Conference League and reaching finals is already a big achievement. It gives you confidence and belief. When you lose a final you have to learn from it. It's a competition I want to do well in.”

LAST SEASON – “The team did well last season. There's a lot of quality in this team. We have to keep our feet on the ground and work hard. Serie A is a tough league with lots of top teams. You have to think big and you need everyone pulling in the same direction.”

HUNGER FOR SUCCESS - “I remember watching Fiorentina as a kid. It was a big club playing in the Champions League, which is the best competition of all. With all the recent finals you can see Fiorentina are there or thereabouts and want to win things, but we need a move up another notch.”

PIOLI – “The club has brought in a coach who knows how to win. Hopefully he can instill his mentality and use his experience to help us improve.”

EUROPE – “The Conference League is a target. We'll try to go as far as we can. All European competitions are important.”
