Women edge Sassuolo 1-0

21 January 2023

Fiorentina Women got back to winning ways with a narrow 1-0 victory over Sassuolo.

The win came courtesy of Laura Agard, whose first-half free kick into the top corner was too powerful for Kresche to keep out

Pauline Hammarlund – making her Serie A – went close to doubling the scoreline on the stroke of half time but the opposition keeper turned it onto the woodwork.

The Viola managed to survive Sassuolo's second-half onslaught to secure three points and temporarily move above Inter in third place.

The girls will be back in action in midweek when AC Milan visit in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals.
