Joe Barone, General Manager of Fiorentina, made a statement following the racist chants heard yesterday in Bergamo against President Rocco Commisso:

"We witnessed a shameful incident, not by just an individual but by a whole stand’s worth of supporters. We’ve had to fight racism in America, and here in Italy we’ve suffered this unacceptable situation. It shouldn’t be just the Lega intervening but also the CONI and the government. We’re disgusted and we expect severe measures to be taken. Worldwide attention must be drawn to this incident and we can no longer pretend that nothing has happened.”
