Fiorentina Women had to settle for a point at home to Milan in their first match of the championship round.
The moment that could have turned the game was when Veronica Boquete stepped up to take a penalty but she was denied by Laura Giuliani in the Rossoneri goal.
The Viola had other opportunities to score – most notably a header by Boquete and when Sofie Bredgaard hit the woodwork – but Milan fashioned numerous chances of their own, with Giulia Arrigoni twice threatening from long-range efforts
The draw means Fiorentina gain a point on Roma, who are now six ahead, after they lost to Juventus.
Fiorentina have a rest weekend in seven days' time but before then they will attempt to overturn a 3-2 deficit from the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final against Juventus. The return leg is to be played in Biella on Thursday evening (18:00).
