On one of the most difficult days for the club, Fiorentina Women took to the field to honor the memory of president Commisso. 

With 1,000 fans in the stands at the Stadio Curva Fiesole, the Viola took the lead in first-half stoppage time when Madelen Janogy won a penalty. Club captain Emma Severini stepped up to convert with aplomb.

Fiorentina continued to dominate in the second half but were unable to find a second, despite a flurry of late opportunities.

In the 91^st minute, Genoa dealt a sucker punch as Birta Georgsdóttir finished off a counter-attack to snatch a draw for the visitors.
