ACF Fiorentina can confirm the club has signed Mattia Viti from OGC Nice on an initial loan deal which includes an option to purchase.

The 23-year-old defender, who was born in Borgo San Lorenzo near Florence on January 24, 2002, came through the Empoli youth academy before breaking into the first team.

After spells at Nice and Sassuolo, he spent last season back at Empoli, where he made 33 appearances in all competitions and scored one goal.

Viti has also represented Italy at every level up to the Under-21s.
