Moise Kean and Cher Ndour were both on target in an Azzurri shirt on Thursday, helping Italy and Italy U21 to record important wins.
Kean notched Italy's second in their 2-0 World Cup play-off semi-final victory against Northern Ireland in Bergamo. The Fiorentina striker brought down Sandro Tonali's high ball in the box before stroking a low finish in off the far post.
President Giuseppe B. Commisso was among those to congratulate Kean on his goal: “Great job and well done, Moise!”
Italy will now face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the play-off final next Tuesday, hoping to book their spot at the 2026 World Cup.
Earlier in the afternoon, Ndour netted the opener in Italy's 4-0 defeat of North Macedonia in a European U21 Championship qualifier held in Empoli.
Pietro Comuzzo also played the entire match.
The result leaves Italy level with Poland on 18 points in Group E.
