ACF Fiorentina is pleased to announce the signing of Simon Solomon Junior Sohm on a permanent transfer from Parma Calcio 1913.

Sohm was born in Zurich on April 11, 2001 and came through the academy at FC Zurich. He moved to Parma in 2020 and went on to make 155 appearances for the club, including 55 in Serie A with five goals.

The 24-year-old has represented Switzerland at every youth level and has two senior caps.

After finalizing the deal, the midfielder shared his initial thoughts with our media team. 

What are your first impressions since arriving in Florence

“It's a beautiful city and I've been impressed by Viola Park. I'm very happy.”

What do you think Serie A has to offer you?

“It's a very strong league. I spent last season in Serie A and now I want to take another step forward. I think Fiorentina is a great place for me to develop my game. I want to help the team and improve as a player.”

Have you spoken to any of your team-mates? What team or personal targets do you have for this season?

“I haven't spoken to the others yet but my idea is to try and get into the Champions League and I think it's the same for the rest of the team. I'll speak to them tomorrow when I join them in England.”
