ACF Fiorentina has announced that since this Monday Tariq Lamptey had been undergoing a series of static and dynamic clinical and diagnostic tests in order to diagnose the extent of the injury he sustained during Fiorentina’s match against Como on Sunday, September 21. 

As it was a complex medical situation a diagnostic arthroscopy was then performed this morning by Dr. Mariani. The surgery revealed an isolated tear of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. However, the nature of the injury meant that anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction surgery was required, which was a complete success. 

The player will return to Florence in the next few hours to begin his planned rehabilitation program.
