Luca Ranieri was interviewed following his side’s 1-1 home draw with Inter. Here’s some of what our player had to say:
“I think we put a great performance against the best team in the league. I’m really happy, especially because the fans supported us from the first minute to the last – they were our twelfth man.
“The international break comes at the right time for us, because we’ve had many matches and travelled a lot recently. Now we’ve got a chance to recover and really kick on during our training sessions, especially off the back of a performance like the one we just put in against Inter. We know that we’ve got a crucial match coming up in Verona, and we’ll be ready for it.
“I think we’ve made improvements in every aspect - physically and mentally. Now we’re in good shape, we feel better, and we’re satisfied with our performances. Tonight wasn’t easy, especially after a tough trip to Poland, but we showed great energy and commitment.
“The coach and his staff have helped us a lot, and you can see it on the pitch. Apart from a bad performance in Udine, we’ve reacted very well. If I had to single out a turning point to our season, maybe it started in recent matches like Como or even parts of the Cagliari game.
“Our survival won’t be secured quickly, but we’re focused only on ourselves. We’re really fired up. After tonight’s performance. we can go home feeling satisfied and ready to fight in our next match.”
