Luca Ranieri was interviewed by Andrea Giannattasio for FirenzeViola. Here's a pick of his comments:
“We're training hard every day to get our fitness levels up – that's crucial for the season ahead. There's a great mood in the camp. We're all keen to take on the coach's advice and improve ourselves. Bit by bit everything will take shape.
“The coach has lots of ideas and he's pushing us really hard. We've only been at it for two weeks so we're still trying to take on board all of his ideas but you can tell he's a top coach who's determined to improve the team.
“He wants us to stay very compact, whether we're pressing high up the pitch or sitting deep and defending. He wants a tight unit and he's showing us the benefits that can be obtained by working this way.
“I played with [Radu] Dragusin five or six years ago at Salernitana but he's grown so much. He's incredibly strong and has improved his all-round game. I'm happy to share a changing room with him again."
