Stefano Pioli and Jacopo Fazzini attended the UEFA media conference on Wednesday, the day before Fiorentina's Conference League play-off second-leg clash with Polissya.
Here's a selection of their quotes:
Stefano Pioli
STARTING LINE-UP - “I'll make some changes. I was looking for continuity against Cagliari but this will be our third game in the space of a week and it's something I'll bear in mind. We have quality throughout the squad. What we won't change is our approach – that's essential if you want to win every match.”
DZEKO – “Edin is fine. He had a bit of a niggle last week but he's ready to play. He had an excellent pre-season and he'll lead the line tomorrow. He's more of a link-up striker than one who plays off the shoulder, but he's intelligent enough to do the lot.”
PICCOLI - “He's a great addition to our squad as he offers different attributes and has great technical and physical ability. He's convinced he's made the right choice. We're very happy with his mental approach.”
TRANSFER WINDOW - “Now is not the time to talk about transfers. We're here to talk about Polissya because tomorrow is a crunch match for us to secure European football. We've only played the first half. We have't qualified for the next round yet.”
Jacopo Fazzini
COMPETITION – “I try to adapt to every game depending on what the boss asks me to do. I did my bit against Cagliari and tried to help the team. You expect competition for places at a big club like this. It gives you added motivation to keep doing better and better.”
CONFERENCE LEAGUE – “It's certainly one of the targets we have. Every game is tough but first we must do well against Polissya.”
POSITION – “It's up to the boss. I'm open to anything and will always give my all. As footballers, we have a duty to always play with commitment, passion and professionalism.”
GUDMUNDSSON - “We're similar players. Albert is top quality. I try to pick up good things from my team-mates. That's another way you can grow.”
FIORENTINA DEBUT – “It was an amazing feeling. It's always nice to pull on the Viola jersey and even better if it's a European game.”
