Our new signing Roberto Piccoli was interviewed after Fiorentina’s 0-0 draw against Torino. Here’s some of what the forward had to say:

“We created a lot in the first half and could’ve scored and broken the deadlock. We need to improve in that regard. We’ve always got to think positively and try and get points in every game.

“It was lovely [to make my debut]. Fiorentina is a huge club and as we saw today the fans always get behind the team. We need to get good results to make everyone happy.

“I’m a forward who loves to get in behind the defense. I could’ve done better in front of goal but the pitch’s condition meant it was a struggle. We’ll hit the nail on the head sooner rather than later because we’re a great group and squad.

“We’re really keen to improve. I’ve only had a couple of training sessions with the team. We need to find the right chemistry. I think that we can have a great season, but we always need to think positively and try and get points in every game. We’re a top team so we ought to be ambitious.”
