Piccoli: "No let-up"

Roberto Piccoli was a happy man after scoring his first goal for the club in Fiorentina's 2-0 Conference League victory over Sigma Olomouc.

“I'm happy first of all because we won the game,” the striker began. “We must keep working away. We can't ease off because we have to prepare for our next game on Sunday.”

Is there anyone you want to dedicate this goal to?

“I always dedicate my goals to my family as they're so supportive, but it's also for my team-mates, the club, for giving me this opportunity, and the fans, for getting behind us all the time. We must keep pushing hard and not let up.”

You produced another battling display today, toiling for the team and trying to score. You almost got two...

“I'm not quite 100% yet. I'm the sort of player who thrives on making runs in behind and scoring goals of course. I'm happy because I'm improving on an individual level and adapting to the team. I have to keep it up.”

This win must be a big morale boost for the team and Fiorentina in general

“Yeah, everyone at Fiorentina: ourselves, the coaching staff and medical staff, the fans, the club, everyone. Fiorentina has to be united as one and we must keep pushing forward, one step at a time.”

You have another tough game in a few days' time with the visit of Roma.

“We'll have to be ready for the fight in that one.”
