ACF Fiorentina is delighted to announce the signing of Roberto Piccoli on a permanent transfer from Cagliari Calcio.
Born in Bergamo on January 27, 2001, Piccoli came through the Atalanta academy and made his Serie A debut for the club in 2019, aged 18.
He has since plied his trade in the top flight for Spezia, Genoa, Hellas Verona, Empoli, Lecce and Cagliari, where last season he scored 11 goals in all competitions.
The centre forward has represented Italy at every youth level.
Piccoli will be unveiled to the press tomorrow, Tuesday August 26th, at the Wind3 Media Center at Rocco B. Commisso Viola Park, from 14:00.
After completing his move, Roberto spoke to our media team.
How do you feel about becoming a Fiorentina player?
“Very happy. This is a big club with huge ambition. There's everything we need to have a very successful season.”
Have had the chance to take a look around Viola Park?
“Yes, the facilities are excellent. You can work really well here. We just have to keep pushing hard, day in, day out, and train with energy and purpose.”
Have you spoken to any of your new team-mates yet?
“I know [Marin] Pongracic very well as we used to play together [at Lecce]. I spoke to him but I haven't spoken to anyone else yet.”
You're a striker who scores goals but you also like putting in a shift to help the team.
“I like pushing hard, playing off the shoulder and scoring as many goals as possible to help the team. A fiery atmosphere gets me even more fired up.”
What's your first impression of the owner and management?
“We haven't spoken much yet. It's all been a bit of a rush today after my medical but we'll have time to get to know each other.”
