Born in 2006 and originally from Bagno a Ripoli, Niccolo Trapani began his football journey in the youth ranks of Belmonte. Now fresh off signing a contract extension, he is entering the final stretch of his development within Fiorentina’s academy system.
For Trapani, Florence is not just a football city, but it is home in every sense. For nearly a decade, he has been living his dream of wearing the Viola shirt and representing his hometown club.
The talented player first caught the eye in the opening pre-season friendly of last season, where he scored a brace against the senior team. Expectations were high and he delivered. Trapani made 31 appearances over the course of the campaign, adding four assists to his name.
A modern profile, he combines physical strength, tactical intelligence and positional versatility. One of his next key goals, beyond reaching the first team, is to improve his final-third decision-making and contribution.
Now, the final step awaits with the transition to the senior team. This season will be a defining one, providing a major opportunity to showcase his talent and catch the eye of head coach Stefano Pioli.
Youth coach Daniele Galloppa has praised Trapani’s adaptability, noting his ability to play both as an advanced winger and, when needed, as a centre midfielder. Beyond his technical and tactical qualities, many at the club also recognise his natural leadership, which is impressive for someone so young.
With his excellent game awareness and grounded mentality, Trapani is undoubtedly a young talent worth nurturing closely and one who could be ready to bloom in the coming months.
