Cher Ndour was interviewed following his side's 3-0 win over Polissya Zhytomyr in the Conference League. Here’s some of what he had to say:
“It was a great match. We suffered a bit after Moise [Kean] got sent off but that’s part of the game. We suffered but didn’t give them a lot. We saw the game out, which was really important. Overall we’re happy with how the team performed.
“We fought and ran hard. Obviously it’s still only the start of the season so of course it’s going to be grueling. We didn’t give them any big chances and we managed to create some goalscoring opportunities ourselves. It’s a positive sign.
“I’m feeling at ease with all of my team-mates, as was the case last season. I think this is the first time I’ve started a campaign with the same team, and I think this is helping me a lot. I’m really happy and I’ll keep on working hard to improve every day.
“The coach always asks me to break forward and to get into the box more. This is what I’m aiming to do.
“We’re going to rest now and then from tomorrow we’ll think about the Cagliari game and starting the league season well. It won’t be easy – they’ve got a good team and the atmosphere will no doubt be challenging. However, we won’t have any excuses – we’re ready we’ve been working well.”
