De Gea: "A poor performance"

David De Gea reflects on a bad day at the office for Fiorentina after they were beaten 3-0 by Udinese on Monday evening.

What went wrong tonight?

“A bit of everything. It was a poor performance. We didn't create much and we gave three goals away. We were lacking energy. When you lower your level, you concede goals and you get beaten.”

Udinese got an early goal from a corner then made a real battle of it, making it tough for you to get back into the contest.

“Yes, they're a very strong, physical side but I don't think it was just the set-pieces. We didn't feel good out there today. We didn't move the ball well. We need to pick ourselves up quickly because we have another final to play on Sunday and that's a very important match for us.”

Now it's a case of learning from this defeat and preparing properly for the next one against Parma.

"Yes, we must learn that if our level and our mentality drops off, we're not going to win. We need to give 100% for the full 90 minutes or it's going to be tough. This is where we are this season. I think we've improved a lot compared to a few months ago but we have another 11 matches to play and we need to go at full speed.”
