One of our new signings Mattia Viti took some time out from his busy training schedule to talk about how he's finding pre-season under the orders of Stefano Pioli.

How are you adjusting to life as a Fiorentina player?

“It's going great. We've only just started but we're already working really hard. We've set ourselves some targets and the team has welcomed me really well. The guys are always joking about but that's good.”

It looks like you're being made to sweat! Yesterday with the fans in the stands, today over 25 metres, plus all the gym work... There's never a moment's rest.

“No, but that's how it should be. At the start you have to build up strength and stamina in your legs. The idea is to get us as ready as we possibly can be for the big kick-off. And before then we have a series of friendlies to play.”

What's it like working with the coach and his staff?

“It's very gratifying. It's almost like they're players themselves as they're always joking. Obviously when there's work to be done they take it seriously, but they like to have a laugh.”
