Radu Dragusin shares his thoughts after Fiorentina defeated Benevento 4-1 in their opening Coppa Italia match.

How important was this game today, especially as it was a knockout match?

“It was very important for our cup campaign as we want to go all the way. It's one of our targets for the season. It was important to get off on the right foot and we did that, so we're happy. There was a lot of enthusiams but we must keep our feet on the ground and keep working towards our goals.”

Fiorentina seemed in control in both halves but you came out after the break with a different energy, What did the coach say at half time?

“He told us to keep pushing because we knew we could do better. We wanted to wrap the game up as soon as possible and score lots of goals. We have the quality and we wanted to show it.”

You got an assist but you didn't score – maybe you're saving it for the next one.

“Let's hope so. I'm happy we won and pleased with my assist. We need to keep working.”

Now you'll turn your attentions to a very tough Serie A opener against Roma, in Rome. What sort of game are you expecting?

“Serie A is a tough league so there are no easy games. We'll go into the match with the same approach and same energy as today. We want to show people what we can do.”
