Fiorentina Primavera were unable to add the Super Cup trophy to their Serie A crown as they ended up as the losing team after a seven-goal thriller with Atalanta.

After falling behind to Colombo's first-half strike the Viola leveled through Mazzeo soon after the break. Rinaldi then briefly restored Atalanta's lead, only for Bonanno to make it 2-2.

With just over ten minutes remaining Forte conceded an unfortunate own goal and Cakolli made it 4-2. Forte made amends with a stunning strike in stoppage time and Corduneanu and Mazzeo both had chances to restore parity but ultimately Fiorentina were unable to find a fourth.
