Fiorentina U20 earned a point at Sassuolo in their first league match as reigning champions.

After winning the Scudetto last season, this year's Primavera team begin the 2026/27 campaign with a new coach – Aurelio Andreazzoli in the dugout – and many of last year's Under 18s making the step up.

However, after a cagey first half it was the home side who drew first blood, Iustin Cornescu turning inside the box before finishing to give Sassuolo the lead.

The Viola restored parity in added time with a superb goal: Sulayman Jallow connected with Piergiorgio Bonanno's cross and spanked a volley into the top corner.

The Primavera will next be in action on Monday 31 August, when they will host Hellas Verona in Matchday 2.
