Gosens post Torino

Robin Gosens faced the press after his side were held to a 0-0 draw against Torino. Here’s some of what the German had to say:

"Obviously if you can’t score it's always better to take home a point. To be honest, when I walked into the dressing room after the game I felt a bit disappointed because we came here to win. That being said, we’ve picked up a point in a difficult stadium.

“It's not a bad thing if we’re feeling down in the dressing room after getting two away draws. I think it’s a sign that we have the ambition to win such games. Today was a fair result because we didn't create many chances - that's the truth. Torino created two or three dangerous goalscoring opportunities. We're working hard, and we’ve got a great group of lads who are working well together. It's up to us to do better and improve in every regard so we can get back to winning ways as soon as possible.

"As for where I want to play, first and foremost we all do what the coach says. That being said, if I have to choose where I feel most comfortable and where I can give my best, I'd say as part of a back five because I’m more effective in attack this way, and I can get forward more. If we’re playing with four at the back and if Dodo gets forward I can’t join in, whereas as a back five I can do that and contribute a lot to the team. The formation isn't the most important thing – what’s vital is implementing what we work on in training during the week, because that’s what makes the difference on the pitch.

"We definitely still need to get to know each other. In my opinion, we played quite well today and the attackers saw the ball a fair amount. I think we weren’t threatening enough, but we're working well. It's still early days, and we're feeling positive. I'm sure everything else will turn out well because we're a great and ambitious team.”
