An underwhelming match with many chances that nevertheless ended in a goalless draw. Roberto Piccoli had the biggest chance of the game in the second half.
The first few minutes of the game were a stalemate: Fiorentina made a few attempts but failed to capitalize. The Viola got two chances in the 26th minute, first with Nicolo Fagioli’s right-footed shot and then with Cher Ndour’s left-footed finish. However, both shots were blocked by Parma’s defense. Parma’s first chance came in the 44th minute with Mandela Keita’s right-footed finish from outside the box, which went just wide.
The first half drew to a close with few attacks from either side.
Then the second half began and in the 48th minute, Rolando Mandragora provided a great through ball for Nicolo Fagioli, who, however, failed to connect properly from close range. Right after that, Piccoli got a huge chance but was blocked by Enrico Del Prato. In the 58th minute, Mandragora took a corner kick and found Luca Ranieri, whose effort went just wide. Fiorentina did everything they could, with many crosses that failed to find a clinical finish. The game eventually ended without any other major chance. The goalless draw was a more satisfying result for Parma than it was for Fiorentina.
