Fiorentina-Milan 1-1: Comuzzo e Nkunku firmano il pareggio

The first half ended 0-0 and there were many major chances, although Milan were more of a threat to Fiorentina’s defense. The game got even more exciting in the second half: first Pietro Comuzzo’s header gave Fiorentina the lead, then in the 90th minute Christopher Nkunku beat David De Gea and scored the equalizer for Milan. Right at the end, Marco Brescianini rattled the crossbar, missing the chance to secure those three points. Final result: 1-1.

In the 3rd minute, Dodo received a good ball from Fabiano Parisi on the right, the Brazilian then moved to the center and passed it to Robin Gosens, but his left-footed shot flew over. Christian Pulisic then had a major chance in the 18th minute: the American got into the penalty box after a one-two with Niclas Fullkrug and, after beating De Gea, hit the side-netting. Two minutes later, Milan replicated what they had done just a few minutes before with the same players, but the Fiorentina keeper denied the visitors’ goal.

In the 23rd minute, Samuele Ricci took a corner kick, Matteo Gabbia headed it towards the goal, but De Gea denied him again. After that, Milan started playing with greater intensity. Once again, Pulisic received the ball during a counter attack, took a left-footed shot but it went wide. In the 40th minute, Parisi crossed the ball from the left to reach Cher Ndour, but his header was weak and was saved by Mike Maignan. A hard-fought first half then drew to a close.

Fiorentina were off to a good start in the second half: first Gosens barely missed a cross from Rolando Mandragora, then Parisi took a long-range shot with Maignan however denying him. Fiorentina were on the attack again, first in the 62nd minute with Dodo from the edge of the box and then Gosens with a header, whose effort was however weak and was easily saved by the French keeper. In the 65th minute, Ndour received the ball and turned from inside the box, but his shot was deflected by Gabbia.

In the 68th minute, Comuzzo gave Fiorentina the well-deserved lead with a header following a corner kick (taken by Nicolo Fagioli) after hitting the post. Milan then got close to equalizing in the 88th minute, with Ricci receiving the ball and taking a shot from the edge of the box, which however barely missed the post.

Milan then successfully equalized in the 90th minute thanks to Nkunku’s right-footed shot from inside the box. In the 96th minute, Brescianini hit the bar from just a few meters from the goal.

The game ultimately ended 1-1, with Fiorentina playing well but failing to secure a win, also due to a bit of bad luck.
