A tense, hard-fought encounter saw Juventus Women leave with the points as Emma Severini's late goal was not enough for Fiorentina to claim a share of the spoils.

Alba Redondo seized on a defensive error to put the visitors in front shortly before the half-hour mark and the Viola went in at the break trailing despite their best efforts to restore parity – Sofie Bredgaard firing agonizingly wide after a mazy run.

Emma Snerle almost made it 1-1 soon after the restart, only for Manaka Hayashi to come to the rescue for Juventus.

The Bianconere then made it 2-0 against the run of play as Kysha Sylla's effort took an unfortunate deflection off Ilse van der Zanden, leaving Cecilie Fiskerstrand flat-footed.

Fiorentina kept pushing and pulled one back in stoppage time when Oda Johansen picked out Severini but their final onslaught was not enough to force a second.

The girls will now turn their attentions to bouncing back against Ternana next Sunday.
