The first chance of the second half came with a corner kick in the 52nd minute, as Luca Ranieri’s header went just wide. The Viola then made another attempt in the 79th minute, with a frantic goalmouth scramble that culminated with Fabiano Parisi’s effort from inside the box, which was deflected by Robin Gosens and went just barely to the side.
