Nicolo Fagioli shared his thoughts on Fiorentina's performance following Saturday's 2-1 success at Como.

You played a key role today and the team got the win.

“That's the most important thing – winning as a team. Individual performances can help the team to win but we all worked very hard defensively. We knew we were coming up against a great team. We did what the coach asked us to put into practice during the week and managed to come away with a huge win.”

You took the lead in the first half, then you had to dig in a bit in the second. As Fabio Paratici said when he arrived, you have to go out there with the tank and keep going until the end of May.

“That's what we need to do because we're where we are in the table. Getting out of this position is not going to be easy or quick but if we play as a team like we did today we can do it.” 

You were up against two great playmakers today: Lucas Da Cunha and Maximo Perrone. You scored a goal but also won lots of balls.

“That was the objective. They're both great players but my main task was to try and contain Nico Paz. I think he's one of the best players in the league and I wish him every success in his career. We all defended very well today.”

These three points are also a morale boost going into the coming games.

“Yes, we have a crucial match now in Poland. We have to put Serie A on pause to focus on the Conference League, then we'll think about Pisa on Monday.”
