Nicolo Fagioli chewed over Fiorentina's heavy defeat to Roma on Monday night.

Things didn't go our way tonight and the result is what it is. It was uphill from the start because we conceded from a set piece and let ourselves go a bit – that's the biggest disappointment. We should have managed the first half better and then made more of the chances we got in the second half.

The first 15 minutes were very good. Fiorentina pressed Roma high and kept them pegged back. It was the second goal that took the wind out of your sail.

“When you concede two goals back to back at a stadium like this, it's tough to fight back. We made mistakes on the third goal – I could have done better myself on [Manu] Kone. It was a poor first-half performance. We did a bit better after the break but it was pretty much game over. We needed to start the game as we did the second half.”
