Born in Camposampiero on January 14, 2003, Giovanni learnt his trade in the youth teams of Padova and Inter. 

Blessed with great dynamism and physicality, he can play various midfield roles and is a highly versatile footballer. 

In 2022, he was loaned from Inter to Reggina and scored eight goals in 36 appearances. The following season he moved from the Nerazzurri to Bologna on a permanent deal, where he featured for three seasons. On September 18, 2024, he made his Champions League debut against Shakhtar Donetsk and last season he started and won the Coppa Italia with the Rossoblu. 

After spending many years climbing the ladder of Italy’s youth national teams Fabbian made his debut for the U-21s on March 27, 2023. Last August, the midfielder was called up to the senior national team by Gennaro Gattuso for the first time ahead of the World Cup qualifiers.
