Edin Dzeko shared his thoughts with the club's in-house media after his move to Fiorentina was made official on Thursday.

“I'm really happy to come back to Italy and to join a big club like this. Seeing this amazing training facility makes me even happier with my decision. I can't wait to get started.

What are your initial impressions?

“My first impression has been excellent. The training ground is a place you want to spend time at every day – not just for the things we have to do with the team but also to live at. It's stunning. I'm delighted and I can't wait to get stuck in. I'm really fired up for the season ahead.”

You've spoken to the president. What was said?

“Yes, I spoke to the president and congratulated him on this wonderful training facility. Watching Fiorentina over the last few seasons, they've been getting better and better. Hopefully we can take the club another step forward this season.”

“I've heard so many good things about Florence but I've never visited it before now. I'd only come here to play as an opponent. Now I'll be able to get to know it. My wife and kids are very pleased to come back too. We'll have time to enjoy the city.”
