General Manager Alessandro Ferrari and Sporting Director Fabio Paratici held a press conference and Rocco B. Commisso Viola Park’s Wind3 Media Center on Thursday. Here is what they said.

FERRARI: Good afternoon. Thank you for being here. We met last winter and the club’s situation was a complex one. We discussed the situation together and stayed united, showing strength and courage. We achieved what we were aiming for at the end of the season. On behalf of the Commisso family and the Sporting Director, I’d like to thank Fabio Paratici, as well as Paolo Vanoli and his staff. They worked very hard, achieved a lot and showed great professionalism. We wish him every success.

What was it like to meet the Commisso family? What were the guidelines you received from them for the next season?

PARATICI: “When we met with you back in February, we asked for unity to support Fiorentina and the city of Florence. So thank you for that. Staying united led to remarkable results. My meeting with them was great. They confirmed that they want to build a competitive, lasting Fiorentina. I want to stress these words: competitive and lasting. The owners need time, however. These things cannot be done overnight.”

Do you have a goal you want to reach next season?

FERRARI: “As President [Giuseppe] Commisso has already said, we want what happened this past season never to happen again. Our commitment and dream are Rocco Commisso’s dream, which is kept alive by his family and by us. As we just said, we want to create a stable, solid Fiorentina that can improve year after year and achieve good results. It’s about growing, believing in values, sustainability, results that will enable Fiorentina to play an increasingly important role year after year.”

Is there a budget for the upcoming transfer window? What is Moise Kean’s future?

PARATICI: “You care a lot about budgets. A budget does not depend on the market alone, but also on the club as a whole, I really want to stress that. Our budget depends on a whole host of factors and does not concern the transfer window alone.

“What applies to Kean applies to all other players. The transfer window has begun. We are of course talking to the players and those who represent them. It’s perfectly normal. Of course, I can’t share with you everything we say to them. As far as Kean is concerned, he’s one of the best players in the country and a key asset for Fiorentina. I’ve seen him rise through the ranks from when he was nine all the way to playing in the Champions League. I care about him like any other player. He’s a great asset. We want him to stay. However, nearly all clubs are not the masters of their own destiny. If a player gets a great offer, most clubs are unable to convince top players to stay. This is my realistic answer to all our fans, because I want to be straight with them.”
