Franco Mastantuono held his first press conference as a Fiorentina player at the Wind Tre Media Center in Rocco B Commisso Viola Park on Thursday. Below is a selection of his answers.

DECISION – “Fiorentina set out some very interesting plans to me. It was important for my development to join a club like this. I'm happy with my choice. It's a big moment for me. I want to get back to playing my best football. I'm here to help the club achieve its goals.”

FANS – “When I arrived in Florence, the fans gave me an amazing welcome and immediately made me feel loved. Italian fans remind me a lot of Argentine fans and that helps make me feel at home. I want to repay them for their support and faith in me with my performances on the field.”

POSITION – “I'll play wherever the team needs me but I feel most comfortable in attacking areas. The main thing is to help the team and follow the boss's instructions.”

FREE TIME – “I'm really into music. One of my hobbies is playing guitar – it gives me a lot of joy.”

NUMBER 30 – “It was the number I wore when I made my debut for River. I thought the best choice was to keep wearing it."

EX VIOLA STARS – “One of this club's great icons is [Gabriel] Batistuta. He was a legend here. Before joining, I spoke to [Lucas] Martinez Quarta and Nico Gonzalez. They told me so many wonderful things about this club and this city. That had a big impact on my decision. I'd like to become part of this club's history.”
