Here’s what Fiorentina’s Luca Ranieri had to say at the end of the team’s third open training session at training camp.

How are your training sessions going?

RANIERI: “We’re training hard. We’re happy that the new season has begun. We’re ready to do everything the coach asks of us. He’s thrilled to be here and has a lot to teach us; we look forward to learning from him. We’re just getting started, but now the time to push hard.”

There seems to be a good atmosphere. You must be excited to have a coach who won a World Cup and was a defender himself. 

RANIERI: “Yes, there’s a lot of excitement. Such an experienced coach is certainly an asset, in particular for us defenders. He will certainly give us a lot of very useful advice.”

Last season wasn’t easy, but it feels as though the fans are ready for a new Fiorentina.

RANIERI: “We learned a lot from last season. We’ve started a new chapter. We’re ready to give it everything to have a great season.”
