Radu Matei Dragusin has joined Fiorentina from Tottenham, with Fabio Paratici opting to work with the Romania center-back for the third time in his career.

Dragusin was born in Bucharest on February 3, 2002 and came through the youth ranks at Sportul Studențesc and Regal București, catching the attention of Paratici's Juventus, who brought him into their own academy in 2018. 

The defender went on to make four senior appearances for the Bianconeri before joining Sampdoria at the end of the 2021 summer transfer window. After six months in Genoa, he spent the second half of the season at Salernitana.

Radu's career really took off the following season when he joined Genoa, impressing during his two years with the Rossoblu. His performances saw him named Romanian footballer of the year in 2023, after a season in which he won 64% of aerial duels and scored four goals. 

As a result of his displays for Genoa, Fabio Paratici decided to bring him to Tottenham. During his two-year spell in England, Dragusin racked up 48 appearances in all competitions while reiterating his dominance in the air, with over 60% of aerial duels won.

Dragusin is a strong, aggressive, right-footed center-back who stands 191 cm tall. His strengths are man-marking, heading and beating opponents to the ball. Despite his stature, he has also played at right-back during his career, displaying confidence on the ball as well as the ability to pick a pass.
