ACF Fiorentina is delighted to announce that Maria Luisa Filangeri has signed a contract extension until June 30, 2028.

The Sicily-born defender, who joined Fiorentina in 2024 after five years at Sassuolo, has exuded professionalism, commitment and character since day one – and will now continue to do so in Florence for another three years.

This is what she had to say after the renewal was announced:

“The reason I decided to sign a new contract is I really believe in the club's plans for the future and Fiorentina have shown they believe in me as much as I believe in them. I want to thank president Rocco Commisso and his wife Catherine, the management team and everyone who wanted me here.

“We have everything we need here to kick on and be successful. I think we've seen this year how keen everyone is to get Fiorentina back up where it deserves to be. Even before the league season has begun, I'm confident I'm made the right choice for my present and my future.”
