Fiorentina Women had a bad day at the office as Lazio triumphed 3-0 in the capital on Saturday.

The Viola had an early chance to take the lead but Emma Severini's penalty and follow-up were both saved by Francesca Durante.

Lazio then took control of proceedings with two goals in seven minutes around the half-hour mark: Eleonora Goldoni with a header and Martina Piemonte with the second.

The visitors extended their lead in the second half when a cross took an unfortunate deflection off Filippa Curmark and ended up in the back of the net.

The Viola kept looking for a way back into the game but were unable to find a goal.

One positive note was that 17-year-old Emma Tomassoni came on for her Serie A debut in the closing stages.
