ACF Fiorentina is pleased to announce that Pablo Pinones-Arce has extended his contract as head coach of the women's first team until June 30, 2028.
After signing his new deal, Pinones-Arce said the following: “First and foremost, I want to thank the Commisso family and the club's management for initially believing in me and for continuing to believe in me. I share the club's vision and the objectives set for the women's department and I firmly believe I am the right person to achieve the results we are after.
“This season we made some changes which have taken us in the right direction but our work has only just begun. We must continue on this path with the right identity and commitment.”
Sporting director Simone Mazzoncini explained: “We decided to extend Pinones-Arce's contract for the continuity of our project. At the start of last season the club decided to go with a foreign coach, with different methods and a different mentality. The aim is to create a far-reaching set-up – and that takes time and work.
“This season we've seen we're moving in the right direction. There have undoubtedly been a few setbacks but that was to be expected considering the number of changes made and the long-term perspective. We want to keep building on the work we've done to develop the ideas and the vision the club has for the women's team.
“A key point I'd like to stress is the common thread running from the academy through to the first team. We've included two young girls in the squad and the coach is very keen to develop our youth academy – it is one of the cornerstones on which we will build our future.”
