Lezzerini's joy at Viola return

Luca Lezzerini shared his first thoughts with our media team after completing his return move to Fiorentina. Here's what he had to say....

VIOLA PARK

“My first impression was amazing. I expected Viola Park to be beautiful but not this beautiful. It's huge and I've only seen part of it. It does feel strange because a few years have passed and it seems like nothing has changed but actually everything is different.

FIORENTINA MEMORIES

“The highlight of my Viola career so far is my debut against Lazio at the Olimpico when we won. That's probably my most vivid memory."

DE GEA AND MARTINELLI

“I don't know the other goalkeepers yet, although we ll know David [De Gea] of course. What I like about him is he seems very balanced and calm. I'm looking forward to getting to know him and also [Tommaso] Martinelli. He reminds me of myself at at Fiorentina – my first experience and appearances with the senior team.”

THE TRANSFER

“It was both long and short. The initial contact was about a month ago but then for various reasons it stalled for a bit. I always thought that if it turned out to be concrete interest, I'd like to come back. In the meantime I received some other offers but I preferred to wait and it turned out well in the end.”
