An injury-time goal by Milica Mijatovic saw Fiorentina clinch three points against AC Milan on an emotional afternoon at Viola Park.

Before kick-off a minute's silence was held in memory of the victims of the recent floods. The Commisso family and the entire club showed their solidarity for the families who have lost loved ones and suffered from the damage caused throughout the region in recent days.

Once the game began, the first half was a moot affair with no chances of note.

It exploded into life after the restart when a resurgent Fiorentina emerged from the dressing rooms. Within the first ten minutes Sebastian De La Fuente's side had carved out three decent chances and struck the woodwork but the visitors held on.

Mijatovic joined the fray just after the hour mark and proceeded to make a nuisance of herself. With five minutes left on the clock, she was brought down in the box only for the ref to wave play on.

As the match entered stoppage time it looked like a draw might be on the cards but Kaja Erzen had other ideas. Collecting the ball in midfield, the Slovene drove forward down the right and pulled back a cross, which Mijatovic slammed past Laura Giuliani to snatch a dramatic victory.

The result takes Fiorentina to within two points of Roma and Juventus before they face off on Sunday.
