ACF Fiorentina can confirm that Gaetano Castrovilli has undergone surgery late this afternoon following the injury he sustained during last Sunday’s league match against Venezia. To repair the damage caused by dislocating his knee, the surgery required reconstruction of the anterior crucial ligament, sutures to the medial collateral ligament and lateral meniscus, and reconstruction of the medial capsule. 

The procedure carried out by Professor Mariani was a complete success. Gaetano will return to Florence in the next few days, where he will commence his rehabilitation programme. His recovery period is expected to take between eight and ten months.
