Fiorentina would like to thank all those who, at such a painful time, have shown their extraordinary love for the Barone family, the Commisso family and the club as a whole.

With a view to continuing the exceptional work carried out by General Manager Joe Barone and the club in recent years, the entire sporting area will be supervised by Daniele Prade, the current Sporting Director, in close contact with Nicolas Burdisso, the current Technical Director, while the business side will be managed by Alessandro Ferrari, the current Director of Communications and External Relations.

Mark Stephan is set to remain in his position as Chief Executive Officer within the club’s organizational structure.

“While remaining devastated by what happened, our commitment to continue what Joe Barone has achieved in the last five years will be even greater,” stated President Commisso. “This is why I wanted to ensure continuity, delegating to the people who worked closest to Joe the task of carrying his cherished memory along with his outstanding work into the future.

“Over the years, Daniele and Alessandro have demonstrated all their dedication and love for Fiorentina, always putting the club's best interests first, which is why I am confident that the management of the club is in excellent hands.

“I would like to reiterate my thanks to all our incredible fans and the whole football world, who, in these terrible hours, have shown their unwavering support for the entire Viola family. As announced on Wednesday, we will soon officially name the villa at Viola Park after Joe Barone and begin looking into how to organize a tournament dedicated to his memory.

“Today, more than ever before, my bond with this club and this city is even stronger and will continue to go from strength to strength in the coming years.

“On Monday, I will go back to the USA to bid Joe a final farewell, but I hope to return to Florence soon to be supportive to our teams with the hope of being able to dedicate an important result to Joe and to Florence as a whole.
