Dear Viola family,

At this difficult time, I wanted to write to you all to wish you a Merry Christmas. 

I want to thank all our fans for the extraordinary support they’ve always shown for Fiorentina and the huge amount of love they continue to show me and my family.

It would have been easy to be taken along by the criticism and pessimism that we’ve read and heard from people who don’t care about Fiorentina.

Instead, you have regaled us with chants, fireworks, constant support, love and affection for Fiorentina. You’ve played an absolutely fundamental role.

Fundamental for the club, for Joe Barone and Daniele Prade, for everyone who works at the club, for the coach and for the team, particularly in recent games, which have been tough for us.

In Turin, against Juventus, we saw the fruits of the labour put in by Cesare Prandelli and his players, who delivered the best Christmas gift we could possibly ask for.

A gift for Fiorentina and for our fans that we can enjoy together, united as ever. Because together, we are one group. One family.

Even in the tough times, I’ve seen and continue to see the love you have for this club. That love gives us the strength to work even harder, every day, to try to achieve results that make us proud to be part of Fiorentina.

The road ahead is still long, but with hard work and unity we can achieve more memorable moments.
