Players to feature for both Fiorentina and Juventus

Fiorentina and Juventus have a long history of footballing connections. Let’s take a look at players who have represented both clubs in recent decades.

Last season, Nico Gonzalez moved to Turin after three years in Florence, a period in which he was a key figure in numerous matches, including the Coppa Italia final against Inter, where he scored the goal that gave the Viola the lead.

Moise Kean, a Juventus youth player and the first player born in 2000 to score in Serie A, scored 21 goals for the Viola last season. Two other players in the current squad are Nicolo Fagioli and Nicolussi Caviglia, both of whom came through the Bianconeri’s youth academy and then moved to Florence last season and this season respectively.

In 2018, Fiorentina signed 18-year-old Dusan Vlahovic, who was the first player born in 2000 to debut for the Viola. He then made a big money move to Juventus in 2022 and has become a key part of the team.

Federico Chiesa, a product of the Viola youth academy, made his first team debut in 2016 at the Allianz Stadium. He then represented Juventus from 2020 to 2024 before moving to Liverpool.

Another product of the Fiorentina youth academy is Federico Bernardeschi, who represented Fiorentina between 2013 and 2017. In his final season in Florence he scored 14 goals in 42 appearances, 11 of which were in the league. He then moved to Juventus, winning various trophies with the club as well as the European Championships with Italy.

Juan Cuadrado, was a key player for Fiorentina and represented Juventus from 2015 to 2023, before moving to Inter and Pisa.

Luca Toni, a footballing legend in Florence and a 2006 World Cup winner, enjoyed a spell at Juventus in 2011.

Adrian Mutu was sold by the Bianconeri to Fiorentina in the summer of 2006, where he enjoyed five fantastic seasons, making over 100 appearances.

Marco Marchionni made his Serie B debut with Juventus in 2006 and remained with the club for three seasons before joining Fiorentina, where he made his Champions League debut and scored his first goal in the competition. This move was part of the deal that brought Felipe Melo (another former Viola player) to Turin.

Christian Vieri spent almost ten years at Juventus and also featured for Fiorentina, scoring nine goals in 39 games.

Valeri Bojinov joined the Viola in 2005 before moving to Juventus to play in Serie B the following season.

Giorgio Chiellini and Fabrizio Miccoli also played for both clubs. Chiellini scored three goals for Fiorentina on loan before going on to become a legend for the Bianconeri, representing the club for 17 seasons, while Miccoli helped keep the Viola in Serie A with his goals.

Moreno Torricelli and Angelo Di Livio’s experiences at both clubs were very similar. Torricelli won numerous trophies with Juventus, including the UEFA Cup, Champions League, Intercontinental Cup and a Scudetto, before moving to Florence, where he also lifted a Coppa Italia in four seasons in Florence.

As for Angelo Di Livio, after six years in Turin - which included a Champions League victory – he joined Fiorentina. He contributed to the club's recovery from bankruptcy and played his last Serie A match in 2005.

A symbolic figure in Italian football, Roberto Baggio made his Serie A debut with the Viola in 1986 and featured there for five seasons before moving to Juventus, where he played another five top-level seasons.
